Created by local artists and visionaries, the Imaginarium invites people of all ages to step beyond the ordinary and into worlds designed to awaken wonder, curiosity, creativity, and connection.
Our Vision
Our larger goal is to establish Imaginarium Albany as a permanent immersive arts destination and nonprofit organization in downtown Albany. A place where artists can bring bold ideas to life and people of all ages can gather, explore, play, and experience something truly unexpected.
Through immersive art, education, creative programming, and community collaboration, we envision creating more accessible opportunities for people to experience the arts while providing meaningful support, visibility, and paid opportunities for local artists.
Until our permanent home is established, the Imaginarium will continue coming to life through pop-up experiences, collaborative events, youth programming, and large-scale public installations throughout the Capital Region.

Our Artistic Journey
Who We Are
The Imaginarium is an artistic collective with a vision for a proposed art space in downtown Albany. We collaborate to design immersive art installations for our events, engaging the community and building excitement as we explore the possibility of revitalizing a downtown building. Our goal is to create a permanent home for our installations and the construction of our immersive tree sculpture.
The Bigger Vision
We envision Imaginarium Albany as a permanent immersive arts destination in the heart of downtown Albany, created within a revitalized historic building and brought to life by the artists, visionaries, educators, builders, performers, and community members who call this region home.
More than a gallery or venue, the Imaginarium will be a world people can step inside. Each space will invite visitors to explore through light, sound, movement, storytelling, technology, performance, and interactive art. The experience will continue to evolve, giving people a reason to return and discover something new.
Our vision includes spaces for large-scale immersive installations, live performances, workshops, collaborative events, artist studios, youth programming, and the possibility of an art school. It will be a place where emerging and established artists can experiment, learn from one another, develop new work, and receive meaningful paid opportunities to share their gifts.
We also envision Imaginarium Albany growing into a nonprofit organization that expands access to the arts, supports local artists and community-led projects, and creates opportunities for children, families, and individuals who may not otherwise have access to immersive art or creative education.
By transforming a historic downtown property into a landmark destination, the Imaginarium has the potential to draw visitors to Albany, support nearby businesses, create jobs, generate revenue within the local economy, and contribute to the continued revitalization of the city.
At its heart, the Imaginarium is about what becomes possible when imagination is given space, resources, and community support. Our vision is to help make Albany a city known for bold creativity, accessible art, meaningful collaboration, and experiences that remind people of their own capacity to wonder.
